Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
This policy explains what Speculora collects, why, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as the product needs.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address and either a password (stored only as a salted hash) or a passkey credential. You provide this when you create an account.
- Idea text you submit to “validate my idea”: by default this is embedded and matched in memory and is not stored. It is stored only if you explicitly create a shareable link for a result — in which case the idea text becomes part of that public share page until you ask us to remove it.
- Billing data: if you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive a customer/subscription identifier and your plan status; we never see or store your full card number.
- Usage data: basic, mostly aggregate signals about how the product is used (e.g. page and feature counts) so we can improve it.
- Cookies: an essential sign-in session cookie, and a small cookie that tracks how many free idea checks an anonymous visitor has used.
How we use it
- To provide and operate the service (sign-in, saved items, watchlists, and the paid features you subscribe to).
- To send you transactional email — verification, password reset, billing, and the alert/digest emails you opt into — delivered via Amazon SES.
- To process subscriptions and prevent abuse.
- To understand and improve the product in aggregate.
How idea text is handled
When you check an idea, the text is converted to a numeric embedding and compared against the tasks we track. We do not store the raw idea text unless you choose to create a public share link for the result. We do not use your submitted ideas to train models.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that make Speculora work, and only as needed:
- Stripe — payment processing, when you subscribe (see Stripe’s privacy policy).
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, transactional email (SES), and the embedding model used to match ideas and content.
- We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Speculora or others.
Cookies
We use a strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in, and a functional cookie to count anonymous free idea checks. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser, but sign-in will not work without the session cookie.
Retention and your choices
- We keep account data while your account is active.
- You can unsubscribe from digest/alert emails at any time via the link in those emails or in your account settings; transactional emails (e.g. password reset) are part of the service.
- To access, correct, or delete your data — including removing a public idea-share page — email us at hello@speculora.com and we will act on your request.
Third-party / public review data
Speculora analyzes publicly available app information and user reviews to measure how well existing apps serve each task. Where we display review excerpts, we attribute them and link to the original source. App names and marks belong to their respective owners.
Children
Speculora is a tool for software builders and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product evolves; we will change the “last updated” date above. Questions or requests: hello@speculora.com.
